We want to become more ethereal, we want to reach our highest horizon past the sun!
Maladaptive daydreaming (MD) is a condition where individuals engage in excessive, intense, and compulsive daydreaming that disrupts daily life, relationships, and work. Often used as a coping mechanism for trauma or stress, these vivid fantasies can last for hours, as an emotional escape from reality.
Many say it was because of Icarus' pride that his wings melted and he died, but who wouldn't wish to fly high? Sometimes, we must burn ourselves to truly know our limits.
My Psychology (science) background didn't come painlessly, growing up, we weren't taught the philosophical differences that many people confusingly frame incorrectly.
When I wrote Nobody Called The Internet Web2 I delivered an intellectual message but I didn't balance my philosophy or belief, I lacked the words to accurately describe what was happening at the time because sometimes, my daydreams get in the way.

Subjective experiences are an equitable form of truth for most people, but they never reliably tell the truth of our reality in a believable way that assures the oasis of mind inside our head. In life, reinforcement shape us much more than ABSOLUTE TRUTH.
Objectivism is different, and has been my favorite path in life, a shift in philosophical thinking from beliefs and intuition, to the scientific lens of our TRUE REALITY.

For us to really wrestle with an idea and digest it fully, we need more than a 60 second short video or a simple diagram. That's why this complex diagram is a personal choice.
In Return To God, I spoke about the concept of tool-being, which basically riffs on the fact that our 10-bit perception is a spectrum. When humans use tools, they become more subjective. but once those tools break, do they see them more objectively.
The matter-of-fact way of viewing things isn't always necessary, but it does in fact, help ground us and aligns with traditional buddhist forms of grounding. Meditation itself is all about focusing on the breath, the body, the bioloogical human-body we exist in, not the complex thoughts the human-body (and it's brain) have walked through.
The subjective lens is more of a micro-illustration of my personal POV, than the battle that happens when reality shifts from personal experience, to a more scientific reality.

Sure, I could have just simply stated that I am a scientist, but I am subjectively forcing myself to enter this world when I write, then wrap the larp in premium Sci-Fi packaging.
e.g., When I write of the "digital world" I am attempting to share meaning. When I speak about cyber-culture, I am simply writing scientific observations on sociology online.
The meta-ironic aspect of all this lies within a hard to decipher fringe between reality and the ethereal horizon. Icarus had passive suicidal sunburns in his dreams because the visual of his wings, their unknown abilities, and reaching the sun, were all burned into his memory and subconscious as a child by his father.
The story's ending wants us to believe that Icarus died because of pride.
But if you were given wings that could lift you up out of your shallow world, and fling you into the sky, would you not stress-test how far you could go? Say no, you're lying.
We, the Creators & Olympians of the world throughout time have stress-tested the boundaries of laws and physics constantly. We break records, bend rules, and fly high.
So we can say "fuck you" before we die.

When i'm depressed and suicidal in the summer I can also rest happy basking in the sun as it keeps me feeling warm and toasty inside. https://mentalwealthacademy.net/passive-suicidal-sunburns?tab=about
The post surveys how language shapes digital attention, critiques sanitized marketing terms, and links maladaptive daydreaming to trauma coping. It advocates ethical values and a co-evolving future for humans and machines, framing a journey toward an ethereal horizon. @jamesdesign.eth
